Gearing up (well, venting, actually)

So... gear.
I get that Resilience isn't good for anything but PvP, but if the gear is still better than what I have, why shouldn't I use it in dungeons?
Obviously the reason is because I'll get kicked for doing it, or have to suffer through bullshit "lol n00b" comments, which is actually enough of a reason that I don't wear it. But it galls me. Because it's better.
I want to preface this by saying that I'm not one of those people who can run four dungeons a night four nights a week. Not even one night a week. My limit is really one or two in a night, maybe three if I'm feeling really pressured or really ambitious. It isn't for lack of time, though that's a factor during the week, it's because I'm not really constitutionally suited for it. I find them exhausting, mentally and emotionally, especially if there's anyone in the group who's a stranger to me. It's stressful! trying to target, to stay on target, to get a new target, to be sure I'm getting my shot rotation and not standing in the green stuff and that I've got Aspect of the Hawk when I can stand still and Aspect of the Fox when I have to run around a lot. I've got my Assist Focus macro that I use to target the tank's target, but sometimes it doesn't work -- I get an "I cannot attack that target" error and I don't know why. And sometimes I need to NOT target the tank's target, and being sure I know when to do that is stressful. Keeping my pet healed and making sure to keep half an eye on the healer just in case the healer gets aggro, and then there's the "do I need that? is it better than what I have? crap, I'll just greed - ohshit, wait, maybe I should have needed! OH SHIT WHERE'D EVERYBODY GO??"
And then later I look at my DPS and just weep, 'cause I'm trying, you know? and hell, I don't even know what my DPS ought to be, I just know I'm low on the charts. :( And that just stresses me out more.
But never the less, I'm trying, because I want to get good at dungeons, and I want to raid eventually, so I know I need the points so I can get the gear, and I need the gear so I can get to where the weapons upgrades are, so I'm working hard at getting the best gear that I can (still trying to figure out the Enchants part, 'cause godDAMN those things are pricey and hard to find on the AH). I know a lot of DPS is purely skill, which I'm working on, and that all the gear in the world won't make a bad player a good one, but better gear is, well, better, too. If I get my shot rotations down, I'll still get more DPS with a higher DPS bow, and I'll still get more crits if I have better Agility stats, etc.
And I think some of the problem is gear, at least, judging by my guildies' sort of appalled, sort of lolarious, "oh, we need to get you some gear" reactions upon seeing it.... I swear, if I don't get better gear soon, they're going to hold a bake sale.
I <3 my guild. :)
And I know that PvP gear has one stat that is useless for anything but PvP -- Resilience. I totally get that it doesn't do anything for me in any circumstance except PvP.
But it's still better than some of my current gear. My DPS goes up noticeably if I equip those Bloodthirsty Dragonscale pieces that are better than my questing/dungeon gear, but I can't wear them in dungeons because they're OMG PVP GEAR.
Because they have a stat that doesn't do me any good, I'm not supposed to wear them in spite of the fact that the rest of their stats actually improve my DPS regardless.

NOT ME THAT'S FOR SURE.
