I think the Horde has it better, but I can't stand a lot of the alliance quests, straight up. I prefer the Conan the Barbarian write large sort of atmosphere. Stab ALL the things! Alliance has the "diminish and go into the west" feeling everywhere, while the Horde is building and fighting. Also, we don't have our cameras blocked by huge trees. I get as lost in SW as you do in Org though. That's just a matter of experience.

You might want to wait for Pandaren? Same starting zone for horde and alliance, and then from 10+ on you can go either way. But really, if you're not comfortable playing the dark side at least a little, you aren't going to enjoy playing the Horde. The Forsaken don't get any nicer.
