adventures_in_azerothSo there I was, I had my hunter (Daniria) running around the Un'Goro Crater, killing dinosaurs and doing quests and whatnot, like you do. And let me tell you, that place is lousy with dinosaurs. I never thought it would be possible for me to get tired of dinosaurs, but the Un'Goro Crater has managed it.
ANYway. So I'm on a ravasaur killing spree last night trying to get from point A to point B through a fucking mosh pit of ravasaurs, when I spy a wee nest! And lo, it's lootable! Something called the Ravasaur Matriarch's nest. So I figure, if I loot it, maybe she shows up, but I can probably take her. So I loot the nest, and mom doesn't show her face, and I get one of those companion pet things, that teaches you how to summon the companion. A ravasaur hatchling. So I thought, cool, I don't need companions, I've got something like 17 pets already, but maybe I can sell it. So I check WoWHead, and according to them, I can probably get in the neighborhood of 500gp for it.

I needed to train anyway, because I had leveled, so I took a griffin to Rut'theran Village, and then the boat to Stormwind because I wanted to go farm spider's silk and I Know A Place (it still takes hours, but the spiders near Slabchisel's Survey in the Wetlands drop more silk than the ones in Duskwood, ime). And I hurried to the auction house and checked for other Ravasaur Hatchlings, and none were for sale. So I clicked my little guy to put him up for sale--
--except I accidentally right-clicked.
So now instead of 500gp I have a ravasaur hatchling to follow me around....
But I thought, well, I can just go back, find the nest, and loot it again! \o/
Except, not so much. Apparently it's super, super rare. I was up until 1AM trying to find a Ravasaur Matriarch's nest. I killed dozens of dinosaurs, looted an obscene amount of leather, downloaded and installed a new GPS system for the game, and had no luck at all. :( I may get up earlish on Saturday and try again when all the west coast players are still asleep.
The other plan is for my sister's Horde-side warrior and my Alliance-side hunter to meet up in the Un'Goro Crater and practice a little cross-cultural cooperation. I can watch her back while she mines her minerals, and she can watch mine while I search for the nest.
Oh! And after I completely failed to put the hatchling up for auction? I forgot to even train. I got back to the crater and LO, TRAINING NOT ACCOMPLISHED.
